TESTIMONIALS

"We hired CDP for a kitchen / family room redesign. Having an early 80's style square kitchen, small dinette and separate family room, CDP removed two walls and a brick wet bar which create a large open area with the kitchen on one end. They had custom upper cabinets, lower cabinet door and drawer fronts and a large kitchen island designed and installed. The engineering required to remove these load-bearing walls was impressive along with the structural engineer's load analysis report which impressed the city inspector enough to make several positive comments. Throughout the process there were daily updates and photos posted on their project internet site so my wife and I could monitor progress from any location. Communication throughout was exemplary. All messages were conducted on this same web site so there was never a question what had been said. All costs were forecast correctly and though we did make some additions during the project, the costs and payment schedule was updated daily. The final cost was as quoted in the beginning plus only the additions we wanted as the project progressed. We found CDP to be very professional in their conduct and care of our home. Most days there would be a total cleanup including sweeping and vacuuming which again impressed us. Bottom line, I will absolutely hire them again for any large home project we might undertake in the future."

"I can't say enough about this company. My project managers communicated with us every step along the way. Each task started and ended exactly as planned, and after construction, a person arrived 10 mins later and cleaned things up. Project completed well ahead of schedule. Workmanship and materials was of high quality."

"Most notable about our experience is what Chris would not do. He would not put a stone fireplace on one end of a narrow space and a stone built in grill on the other. Would have doubled his profit but he explained it was all wrong for the space and he was so right. Our new covered patio is the best part of our house!"

Chris and his team did an excellent job on my patio extension. His team of project managers took care of everything and made all the experience very easy. It has become the hang out place at my house just what I wanted. I will use Chris in the future on any home remodel projects. I did get 5 quotes on the job.

Yes, there are things in life more SCARY than embarking on a major home building or remodeling project… but spending 10s or 100s of thousands of dollars is right up there! There’s the design, the demolition, the (sometimes) months of mud and dust, the seemingly-slow pace of progress… until, magically, it all comes together. That’s The Plan, anyway. And what makes a difference between a Nightmare Experience and a Steady Progression of The Plan is who you pick for your General Contractor. A good CG tells you upfront about all the costs, timing, and scary items. A good GC is in constant communication with you during the project. A good GC knows all the best tradesmen. A GREAT GC is part-friend, part-consultant, part-counselor, part tough-love, and part hand-holder when the going seems to be rough (and EVERY project has its Rough Patch). So who you pick for your GC will set the tone (and your sanity) for your home project. Make sure you research and interview at least three firms… but make CDP Environmental Construction one of the firms you meet. (Ideally, interview them last, so that you can fully appreciate how different and refreshing they are.) We consulted (and even paid) several firms for their ideas and plans for our Outdoor Structure and Landscaping Project. I won’t name names (because they are all reputable firms), but until we met with Chris and Daina Preston at CDP, no one seemed to “get” what we wanted. Chris came in with immediate, no-nonsense ideas that captured what the Big Deal $$ Firms had missed… the Big Guys will try to fit your project into what they have done for other customers. Chris and Daina listen carefully, and tell you what you need… and what will make Your Project special. You will find yourself nodding your head in agreement to almost everything they suggest. AND, they know that their clients are cost-sensitive.
And when we got half-way through the building project and realized that we needed a complete re-do on the landscaping part, CDP brought in a professional landscaper and his team who don’t usually do residential projects… but are part of the CDP network of superb professionals. We got a backyard paradise and drainage solution that was unlike anyone else… uniquely designed for our space. And the quality of CDP’s subcontractors is high… I could go on for hours, giving glowing reviews. But let me highlight one: I told Chris that “good rockwork” is important to me. Chris went out of his way to get me The Best. (I have a feeling my mason cost a lot more than what CDP had originally quoted, but they stuck with the original quote and I got an amazing rock wall.) That’s the final thing: professionality. Chris and Daina stayed with the original quote (unless we added something), were on-time and on-budget, ALWAYS answered phone calls/emails/texts, and everyone showed up when they were supposed to. I should add that CDP broke ground on our project three years ago, in November 2019. It quickly became a weird time in the world, but CDP never wavered. Given our design changes and landscaping additions, we finished the project in March 2020. I waited to write a review of CDP, as I wanted to see how their construction stood the test of time. I can honestly say that our structure and landscaping looks as good today as it did the day CDP finished. Their work has stood the test of time.
To sum: CDP is the kind of old-fashioned mom-and-pop business that we all hope still exists today. They do what they say they will do, they do it on-time and on-budget, and they communicate with you along the way. Everything you want from a GC managing your major home building or remodeling project! And yes, I will use them again… I’ve got a master bathroom that needs updating soon…

“After meeting with more than 10 contractors over several years, we became disillusioned with the process and couldn’t get the type of service and design we were looking for. Finally we met the team from CDP and was immediately impressed. While working with our outdoor living area, they took into account a lot of things we didn’t consider and suggested some changes that made the structure more functional. The entire project came in on-time and on budget - no better company in the business.”

"We had one requirement: to make it look as though the patio had always been there. CDP Environmental ensured our needs were met: from the shingles to the paint to the concrete work, CDP matched it perfectly. We were also happy in the end for another reason. Chris called to let us know that when everything was said and done, there was $2000 of the original bid that did not have to be used and he would be sending the refund to us. We have never heard of a company doing that before. Not only were we happy with our patio, but also with the way CDP Environmental conducted business."

We could not be more happy with the outdoor living area constructed by CDP. Chris, Daina and their team are top notch. We felt we were in good hands from the get go. From design to construction and finish the team were excellent. Always available , responsive and customer focused. Chris and Daina really understood how important this project was to us. We had been dreaming for years to have our outdoor retreat. With CDP, our dream came true.

"I love CDP. We have used them twice on very different projects (backyard makeover and bathroom remodeling) but found the experience great each time. Love the company and the personal touch. Use them so you don’t have to worry about every little decision and massive scheduling that goes into making a beautiful product/experience. Love the team of a locally owned business!!!"

CDP built a back porch addition onto our house. It included a large roof extension, an extended patio with pavers, an outdoor kitchen and all the associated electrical and gas work. They were a joy to work with. The patio turned out great. We spend 75% of our time at home out there and couldn't be happier with the work or the treatment we received from CDP.

My wife and I contracted with CDP in Summer/Fall 2020 for a covered backyard patio (extended existing pad and roofline), pergola and outdoor kitchen project. The CDP team was professional, timely, thorough and competitively priced. Two years later and the quality of the work completed is still great; we get compliments anytime we have friends/family visit. I would HIGHLY recommend their services!

CDP stepped in (and up) when we were having issues with another contractor planning our major kitchen remodel. Daina offered planning and layout advice that saved us money! She was on the job site almost daily and immediately when we had a need. The work was done on time and in budget.
We get complements every time someone new is in our kitchen. We'll use them for our next project.

We hired Chris' company to design and build an outdoor living space for us in our zero lot line back yard. From Day One their design presentation was top notch and amazingly detailed with CAD drawings and graphics. Work began on time and we were kept apprised all along the way as to progress and next steps. The clean-up done at the end of every day was impeccable. The crews were hard working, efficient, quick and extremely professional and talented. We used their suggestions for sound and landscapers. Our completed project is drop-dead gorgeous: Fireplace, added covered porch area, fire pit area, enclosed hot tub with pillars, built-in grill with ice chest and lots of beautiful pavers and stone. It's party central here and we cant' thank Chris, Daina, Curtis and the whole crew enough! We highly recommend CDP for your next outdoor hardscape project.
